The New National Sport

So at the past two Olympics we've found out that we stink at basketball and been reminded that we stink at hockey. Then last night we found out to our great surprise that we stink at baseball too. At least the United States of America is good at something.

Do not even try to peddle this nonsensical idea Ben. It is way beneath you.

Oh, good point. If we had a world cup of American football we would smackdown on Mexico and South Korea. (I'm going to pass on the gratuitous, "shooting fish in a barrel" shots at Florida institutions of non-learning. Even Florida State fans deserve a couple months off from cheap shots.)

Wake up sports fans! A couple more strikes, steroid scandals and playes in trouble with the law and soccer could be 2nd or 3rd on the list of the most popular sports in the US. Over 20 Million people played soccer last year and most of them were younger than 18. . . The fan base for the NHL, NBA and MLB is decreasing while MLS keeps expanding. You'd better learn what a midfielder is and how to tell if someone is offside.
Okay. . .maybe not. . .I'm also the guy who thinks WI is the greatest state in the US. . .

Yeah, let's not get carried away.

I think the WBC was poorly planned. The US was in danger of being eliminated with a 1-1 record. That is nonsense.

Even being eliminated in one game is bad with baseball. Baseball is a series kind of sport. You need to play at least three games because of pitching and the like.

I hope they change it for next time.
