"We will never save civilisation as long as civilisation is our main object. We must learn to want something else even more."
—C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Chris Anderson jovially wishes a happy 19th birthday to Scott Aniol, but inside sources tell me it's really his 14th. Scott, I would sing you the "Happy Birthday" song, but I'm not sure the form is acceptable or the text scans well.
Behold the power of Google. Apparently, marriage laws vary widely from state to state. In most states, marriages for people under the age of 18 or sometimes 16 require parental consent. Sometimes they also require court orders. Often, 14 is the absolute bottom basement age under which no one can be married. But Scott could have been married in one of the states that permit marriage under age 14, and then all states would be required to accept the legality of that covenant under the "full faith and credit" clause of the U.S. Constitution.
Hey, marriage is before God alone, brother. I don't recognize the government's sticking their nose in my business because I need to see a chapter and verse first!

Well then you just need to go find an expert!
Thanks (I think)! :)
Is it legal to be married when you're 14?
That was funny, Ryan.

I hope you do not know this because of your experiences counseling in youth ministry.
No, it actually has way more to do with [joke about living in the Southeast deleted].

True. That argument is so airtight I can offer no response.
