The Beginning of the End for Modern Youth Ministry

If we can't swallow goldfish anymore, what is left for us to do?

This is TRULY a very sad day...where is Jack Hyles when you need him most?

You know, whenever I see the freakish cult known as PETA interfering with people, it makes me want to grill a few steaks. I don't care if it is 8:30 pm.

At least we can still go to hockey games and cheer wildly every time a fight breaks out (cf. Psalm 11:5).

This just gives more credence to the other youth workers in my church who seem to often tell me, "Better safe than sued". (ugh - I agree with T&J, give me a hunk of beef to chew on whilst I groan in distain)

I find it disheartening that it takes PETA to put a stop to this, and that cruelty to animals were the main grounds for discontinuing it.

Does any one else see the sad irony that the church has degenerated to the point of swallowing fish?

That should read "cruetly to animals was the main ground . . . "

Great catch on the irony, Ryan. It's good to know that guys like you and Unk are meditating on youth ministry and are on hand to catch things like this.

G-Knee,

Good to hear you're still eating beef. I always figured you were on the fast train to Veganworld.

I could be wrong, but I think churches ministered to youth somehow prior to the modern entertainment and behavior-oriented anomalies, which I am calling "modern."
