Fleshing Out the "Gospel-Centered" Buzzword

Lots of preachers talk about how the gospel is inextricably linked to every aspect of the life of a Christian. But not everyone who talks about it actually explains how this is true and how it fleshes out.

Certainly, not everything that needs to be said can be said in an hour, but Tim Keller gives us a healthy push in that direction in this talk.

I'd heard him say a few of these things in other sermons, but the one that stood out to me that I've not been able to reconcile with entirely is, "the purpose of salvation is a new material creation" referring to the new heaven and new earth.

While I agree that it is all about Him and not us, I'm not sure that proposition must then follow.

Other than that minor quibble, what an excellent exhortation!

Interesting. I didn't catch that. Would be interesting to hear that argument developed. I can see how it's part of the puzzle, but tough to see it as the ultimate purpose.
